Imperator srl is a green coffee trading company, with its headquarters in the heart of Trieste, the leading Italian port in the trading of coffee and among the best at a European level.
With the wealth of over fifty years’ experience, running through three generations, the company can satisfy the roasters’ requests with a first class offering which is in continuous evolution.
Purity, taste and selection characterise the offer, which with time has been enriched with a flourishing range of certified products (Organic, Fairtrade and UTZ) and specialty coffees.
Every stage of the supply chain process is accurately controlled: the coffee lots we buy are carefully analyzed by their physical and organoleptic aspects; traceability is supervised from origin to final destination, the port of Trieste, recently implemented by DNA analysis on specific lots.
The guarantee of a first class product and a close analysis of the market allows Imperator to assure the quality and to answer and anticipate new trends in the dynamic market of coffee.

Alessandro Polojac

President

Alessandro Polojac is the heart and mind behind Imperator Srl, a company founded in 1980 out of a desire to look boldly and visionarily toward the future of the coffee trade. The son of Gioachino Polojac, heir to a family deeply connected to the port of Trieste and its trade routes, Alessandro chose a name rich in meaning for his company: Imperator, a talisman evocative of the Habsburg era that contributed so much to the commercial growth of the Julian city. This name embodies a philosophy: to face every challenge with enthusiasm, rigor, and a pioneering spirit.

In addition to the world of coffee, Alessandro has a tireless passion for sports. From a young age, he practiced rowing, a discipline that strengthened his inner strength and work ethic. Over the years, his energy has never waned: he has continued to challenge himself by participating in marathons and triathlons, concrete symbols of his dedication, perseverance, and ability to always look ahead, one stride at a time, one stroke at a time.

Lorenzo Polojac

Sales Manager

Lorenzo Polojac is head of sales at Imperator Srl and represents the company’s new generation, with a modern and dynamic outlook on the global coffee market. Thanks to his strategic vision, he has expanded the commercial network, taking Imperator beyond Italian borders and consolidating international relationships based on trust and transparency. With a degree in psychology, Lorenzo combines interpersonal skills and human sensitivity, establishing direct, authentic, and effective dialogue with customers.

Passionate about physical activity and certified as a personal trainer, he brings to his profession the energy, determination, and balance that he cultivates in his daily life.

Alberto Polojac

Purchasing Manager

Alberto Polojac is responsible for quality control at Imperator Srl and director of the Bloom Coffee School, the company’s training center dedicated to spreading coffee culture. With technical expertise, sensory rigor, and an ethical vision of the supply chain, he supervises every stage of quality analysis, ensuring that each coffee meets the highest standards. Thanks to his commitment, Imperator has strengthened its direct links with the countries of origin, promoting projects based on transparency, sustainability, and respect for producers. This vision gave rise to the company slogan WE CARE ABOUT ORIGINS, an authentic expression of a work that combines quality, awareness, and responsibility.

With Bloom Coffee School, Alberto guides professionals and enthusiasts on a training course that focuses on the knowledge, sensitivity, and human value behind every bean.
